Salads are integral to any festive feast, especially New Year’s. Classic herring under a fur coat and Olivier will always be a win-win option, but sometimes you want to try to make the table more diverse. Therefore, we have prepared a selection that includes new recipes and unusual variations of already-known salads.

“Royal coat”
Ingredients: slightly salted fish, 3 eggs, carrots, potatoes, beets, onions, a pinch of salt, mayonnaise, dill, or other herbs to taste.
Preparation: all vegetables must be boiled, finely chopped, or grated. We also cook hard-boiled eggs, separate the whites from the yolks and rub, and cut the fish and onions into small pieces.
Layers can be laid out directly on a plate or used in a special form for fluff salad. The laying out sequence is as follows: potatoes, fish, onions, egg yolks, beets, protein, and carrots. Lubricate each new layer with mayonnaise, and salt the potato and beetroot. For decoration, you can use greens.

“Christmas story”
Ingredients: 5 eggs, chicken fillet, walnuts, prunes, hard cheese, Caesar salad dressing.
Preparation: Boil chicken meat, cool and cut it into small cubes. Walnuts should be finely crushed, cut prunes. Boil the eggs hard-boiled, separately rub the whites and yolks, and also grind the cheese on a grater.
To make the salad look more attractive, the layers should be laid out in this order: chicken, yolks, prunes, grated cheese, nuts, and proteins. We coat each layer with sauce and decorate the finished salad at our discretion.

“Gloss”
Ingredients: fresh salmon, mayonnaise, 3 apples, onion, 2 eggs, potatoes, carrots, mayonnaise, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, ground pepper, and salt to taste.
Preparation: boil vegetables and eggs and after cooling, rub on a fine grater. Lightly boil the fish in salted water and knead with a fork. You will also need to prepare the bow in advance. To do this, it must be finely chopped and fried with a small addition of granulated sugar so that it caramelizes, and then salt and pepper.
First, lay out the potatoes and lightly grease them with mayonnaise. The following layers: salmon, carrots, grated apples, and eggs (if desired, you can separately grate the yolk and protein). After that, you need to put the salad in a cold place for a couple of hours.

“Pomegranate bracelet” with beef
Ingredients: potatoes, beets, 2 eggs, carrots, onions, walnuts, pomegranate, mayonnaise, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.
Preparation: First, boil the beef until tender. Onions need to be peeled and lightly fried in a pan until golden brown. Boil vegetables and eggs and grate. Beef should be cut into small pieces, salt, and pepper. Walnuts need to be finely chopped and mixed with boiled beets.
To assemble the salad, it is better to use a shallow, but large plate. In the center, you need to put a glass around which the layers will be laid out. To make the finished dish look more attractive, it is worth laying out the potatoes first. After spreading beef is mixed with onions, eggs, carrots, and beets. Each layer is smeared with mayonnaise. At the final stage, you need to generously decorate the salad with pomegranate seeds and remove the glass.

“Christmas Exotic”
Ingredients: chicken fillet, canned pineapple, 3 eggs, garlic, parsley, hard cheese, walnuts, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
Preparation: boil chicken and eggs and let cool. Separate the whites and yolks and rub them separately. Cheese also needs to be grated. Boiled fillet and pineapple cut into small cubes. Grind the greens, and pass the garlic through a garlic press. Nuts can be chopped with a knife or a blender. After that, you need to mix mayonnaise with salt, pepper, and garlic. The layout sequence is as follows: chicken, pineapple, protein, greens, cheese, yolk, and walnuts. From above we decorate the dish as fantasy allows.

“New Year’s Wish”
Ingredients: smoked chicken fillet, fresh mushrooms, hard cheese, onion, potato, Korean carrot, egg, green onion, salt, and mayonnaise.
Preparation: wash the mushrooms, finely chop and fry them with onions. Boiled potatoes must be chopped and you can immediately lay out the first layer of salad from it. After that, you need to lay out the carrots, chopped fillets, fried mushrooms, and cheese. The egg should be beaten with a little salt, fried, and finely chopped into strips, and make the final layer.

“Tenderness”
Ingredients: crab sticks, carrots, cheese, eggs, mayonnaise, fresh cucumber, herbs.
Preparation: first, cut the sticks into strips or cubes and make the first layer out of them. Then spread the grated cheese, boiled and finely chopped carrots. As the final layer, we use boiled and chopped proteins. You can decorate the salad with cucumber slices and herbs.

“Velvet”
Ingredients: crab sticks, large potatoes, hard cheese, egg, carrots, mayonnaise.
Preparation: First, boil the potatoes in their skins, peel, and finely chop them. Crab sticks and hard-boiled eggs also need to be chopped. It is better to lay out the layers in the following sequence: potatoes, egg, crab sticks (if desired, you can use crab meat), grated cheese, and raw carrots. We cover each layer with a thin mesh of mayonnaise. It is advisable to leave the finished salad for 2-3 hours in a cool place so that it is better soaked.

“Polyanka”
Ingredients: marinated champignons, pork (can be replaced with any other meat of your choice), cheese, potatoes, 2 eggs, mayonnaise, spices.
Preparation: first you need to boil the meat, adding bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the water. You will also need to boil potatoes and eggs, cool and chop and start folding the salad. Mushrooms should be laid out on the bottom of the container with caps down. The next layer is laid-out eggs, potatoes, chopped pork, and cheese. Then you need to cover the container with a serving dish and carefully turn it over. The result is a classic version of the Mushroom Glade salad.

“Cone”
Ingredients: smoked chicken, 3 eggs, potatoes, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, almonds, salt, and pepper.
Preparation: first you need to boil the eggs and potatoes, cool them, and chop them. It is also necessary to chop the chicken and pickles and you can start laying out the layers. It’s best to do it in this order: chicken, onions, potatoes, and pickles. We smear all layers with a small amount of mayonnaise. At the final stage, we decorate the dish with almonds dried in a pan, cover the base with rosemary sprigs and get a delicious salad in the form of a cone.

Layered salads remain so popular because they always look so interesting. They are easy to cook, and because all the ingredients are laid out in layers, they better retain their unique taste and aroma.
